The Trum/Cruz fallout has touched off a nasty civil war on FR, the likes of which I have never seen since I joined.

Actually, it was very similar last election cycle (2008). I lost two friends who were long standing Freepers for backing Mitt Romney..they were permanently banned. There have been purges: Rudy Giuliani supporters got the boot en-mass.

It should be easy then to get a copy or a confirmation record of Senator Cruz’s Certificate of Naturalization, which is a publc document available under a Freedom of Information Act request.
Even President Chester A. Arthur’s father William’s Certificate Of Naturalization from 1843 is still available for viewing.

Welcome to the world of jerks.

As long as you don’t make personal comments, you can say whatever you want as far as I’m concerned.

But accusing someone of crawling out from under a rock, having shit for brains and other stuff like that should be avoided.

I don’t think Trump will sue and I don’t think he wants the issue settled.

When it is he won’t have his one little weapon to use against Cruz.

He is so revealing his true character lately. It ain’t pretty.

Not too long ago anti-Cruz birthers were being banned.

I agree. A natural born citizen does not have the option to choose other citizenship at birth or any time after. US parents on US soil. That’s what I was taught in school.

And even if you’re right, all that matters NOTHING seeing as how there probably wouldn’t be a court to say that, unless it’s an activist leftist court.

And actually, I don’t know what Cuba’s citizenship laws are. I’m guessing you don’t either.

I was under the impression in all of this that citizenship was passed on by the mother well before 1934 according to something I read. Perhaps not.

I’m an originalist as well in almost every sense of the word. But the reality at this point is your opinion is just another one in the mix, declarative of nothing.

Now if you don’t want to vote for him because of that, that’s your right. And I won’t stop you if you’re so convinced of that.

But in all honesty, I have a hard time envisioning a case in which a father flees a tyrannical country and establishes that he’s loyal to America, a mother who is a natural born citizen, and a child who through circumstances of his parents employment happens to be born in a country that is a natural ally of ours, one of our closest and more loyal friends, moves back to the United States, grows up loving America, memorizing the constitution, and fighting for nearly every conservative and American cause he can, I somehow doubt if the founding fathers would look at THAT GUY and say, “If he would ever be president, it would be a great threat to the republic.”

On the other hand, Barack Obama, IN THEORY COULD HAVE BEEN born in Hawaii. Yet it’s obvious to every conservative and many other Americans that his loyalty is not to this country.

2012 was worse ... maybe because it didn’t come down to only two candidates until much later in the game.

I’m still receiving psychiatric help for the insults I got in 2012.

But I’m hanging in ...

Oh, don’t worry. Trump or Cruz could beat Hillary.

And Cruz is not flawed. He’s a NBC and everyone knows it. Trump knows it and swore to it until Cruz started gaining.

Cruz has proven that he will stand by the values he runs on. He did it when he ran for the Senate, one of the few to ever do so.

I honestly think Trump has serious emotional problems that only manifest when he is challenged. He’s not used to that and he can’t handle it.

If Obama’s father was not a US citizen, then Obama was born with dual citizenship. This makes him a citizen, but not a natural born citizen. That is, if he was even actually born in Hawaii. The forged birth certificate doesn’t make it any easier to believe.

True but Trump should be able to handle George and still stick to his principles, such as they are.

it was just Thursday in the debate that Trump said he would "NOT bring a suit, but the democrats will".

Trump is a Democrat.

Out of line to point out the so called strong on second amendment guy once supported outlawing weapons???
If you stand for nothing I guess you will fall for anything.
Trump will do anything and say anything if it helps Trump.
Not hard to figure out really.

Naturalization under Title 8, Chapter 12, Subchapter III, Part I does not include a Certificate of Naturalization.

Part II does include a Certificate of Naturalization, but Cruz is not covered by Part II.

Cruz will have either a Consular Record of Birth Abroad (CRBA), or a Certificate of Citizenship. He'll have a CRBA if the document was obtained before Cruz was 18 years of age.

Those documents are not public records, but of course Cruz is free to obtain them and show them, just as he showed his BC.

“He’s a NBC and everyone knows it.”

Of Canada? Or Cuba? Or USA? he could have chosen any. This is not the path of a natural born US citizen. Sorry.

He was, Steven, he was.

He even roped me in. But the smoke is clearing and we are beginning to see the reality of the reality star.

The tenor of the Trump/Cruz threads has totally changed in the last week or so.

Cruz people are now deemed nasty because we are telling the truth (as we see it) about Trump. It ain’t a pretty picture.

Oh I’m not disagreeing. And you’re likely right with the dual citizenship. He may even still have that Indonesian passport hiding somewhere too.

But my point was, other than the dual citizenship aspect, even the Obama birtherism COULD HAVE BEEN much ado about nothing. At least as far as him being born in Kenya.

And in the end, from a practical standpoint that wouldn’t even matter. Because it’s pretty clear that with his American hating father (take your pick I guess, Obama Sr. or Frank Marshall Davis), his American hating mother, and his spending time in a Muslim loving country, it’s pretty obvious that Jesus Christ, apple pie, and the Fourth of July aren’t front and center in his mind, or his loyalties.

For the 1,000th time, a natural born citizen means a citizen from birth.

Tell me, if a woman US soldier serving in Iraq gives birth in Iraq, is her child an American or Iraqi???

All Americans should be able to answer that question ( except for Trump and Tribe I guess )
