[“people who immigrated to the U.S. illegally but haven’t committed any major crimes”........

If you enter the U.S. “illegally”, that IS a major crime in my book. They should be deported and then allowed to apply for entrance into the U.S. LEGALLY.]

How about if you self deport, you can apply to come back legally. If we deport you, then no.

Rubberio is so flexible, the no amnesty amnesty will be stretched to cover all the fraudulently documented foreigners.

Illegal aliens must break many laws to maintain their illegal presence in our country. Document fraud is but one of them.

Wouldn't consider a vote for Amnesty Rubio anymore than I would consider the son of mailman, the other Bushie, or the fat man from the state where Islamists celebrated 9-11 and has some of the most restrictive gun laws in America. Clearly if the law breakers/INVADERS are allowed to stay that is AMNESTY - the forgiveness of the law breaking.

Rewarding people for breaking the laws in 1986 is how we ended up with 10 times the number of illegal aliens.

No felons. But also no DUI drivers, no drunk and disorderly, other misdemeanors.

Most important: No welfare. No immigrant, whether illegal, legal or naturalized citizen should be allowed to apply for welfare. We should learn from history and not create another under-class.

You beat me to it.

Rubio embraces a classic left/liberal fallacy: “intentions” matter more than facts and deeds. No thanks.

I am with you, but, IIRC, illegal immigration, for a first timer, is not considered a major crime, but more along the lines of violating a minor regulation.
If they return after being deported, then it becomes a more severe offense.

But this goes to prove how untrustworthy the GOP Establisment is. Just like a Clinton, it depends on how you parse their statements. They will try to say its not an ‘amnesty’ if they have to pay a fine (or some other BS).

Ted Cruz has never explicitly answered the same question.

About four months ago, in the Fox News Debate, Megyn Kelly asked Ted Cruz if he would issue temporary work permits to law abiding undocumented immigrants.

Cruz refused to answer the question.

Cruz stated that Kelly's question was a “distraction” from more important immigration issues.

That does not inspire confidence in voters like me who want to hear an explicit “Yes” or “No” answer.

If someone has a video link to Cruz explicitly stating that all illegal immigrants should be deported, I would very much like to watch it.

Agree. It’s not major. It’s an infraction. That said I’m totally with trump on this and I very much subscribe to what Savage calls: Language-Border-Culture. They need to be sent back. I realize that’s a pretty impossible task, but it needs to be national policy, just the same.

They’ll all vote for Rubio when he grows up and is old enough to look like a real President.

Rubio: Law-abiding illegal aliens can stay.

There fixed it. Unfortunately nothing can fix stupidity. Especially those uttering oxyMORONs.

You are correct. Being in the US illegally should be an “A” felony with 20+ years in jail and deportation and a permanent ban on re-entry. A second conviction for illegal entry should be a capital crime with execution the next day after conviction.

Presently, we should give them 180 days to get their affairs in order and get out of the country. We should repeal the immigration act of 1965 and prohibit new immigrants until we can properly assimilate the ones we have here already.

Did he also say that anyone who doesn't come out of the shadows on their own will be deported? That I'd like to hear.

I don't like Rubio's blind spot on the invasion of the US. But I think it's consistent with his background and life experiences. He might be absolutely okay at stopping the invasion of the US, except for giving some people a path to stay here.

Looks like Rubio has gone tribal, pandering to Hispanic vote.
