Trump did tell him.

He even told him how to address it with a Declaratory Judgment. And Cruz had time to address it before the lawsuits. Not a lot of time, but it’s clear he didn’t intend to address it.

Now his supporters are on here saying a Declaratory Judgment has to follow a lawsuit, while Wikipedia says it’s usually filed when there is a threat of a lawsuit but one hasn’t been filed yet.

And when Cruz supporters aren’t spouting misinformation on Declaratory Judgment, they are trying to obscure the facts by saying SCOTUS doesn’t issue declaratory judgments. Trump didn’t tell him to go to SCOTUS, he said a Federal judge.

The willingness of Cruz supporters to twist the truth has me concerned about Cruz. I see Cruz having bad judgement on the economy on TPP and TPA, on the Corker Bill, on dissing NY, and on failing to take Trump’s advice on eligibility.

But what is it about Cruz that pull in dishonest supporters? I see it, but I don’t get it. I haven’t seen that out of Cruz himself, just his supporters.

I don’t have the faintest idea, either. That’s why I asked, yesterday, if it’s possible that all of the Cruzers here are simply a bunch of well-organized, trolling RATS, intent in taking out our front-runner (and, come on... Cruzers! Deny that Trump is the front-runner!).

Another possibility is that they’re a bunch of sour Bible-thumpers, bitter because it quickly became clear that their chosen guy, Ben Carson, is not in any way qualified for the position.

I have seen the same pattern of supposed Ted supporters, I think most are DU disrupters, sowing the seeds of hate.

Cruz should have settled this issue before he threw his hat in the ring. It’s his job in the first place to conclude he is eligible. He had to know he was born in Canada, even though he doesn’t identify with being a Canadian.

I was looking at Iowa election law yesterday. It's an offense (called a "serious misdemeanor") to state a qualification falsehood on candidacy forms. I doubt it gets prosecuted, but it might be fun to find out who certified Cruz eligible in each of the states he is conducting a campaign.

Somehow those persons came to believe Cruz was an NBC. Likely by assuming so, unaware there is a Canadian BC.

There is no reason that Senator Cruz should do a declaratory judgment, it is nothing more than a sucker punch. Looking at a legal issue, you don’t give up defensive lines without a reason. The opening move is on those who wish to accuse and they have to get it right... with Obama, no one seemed to be able to figure out how to get past that point. If Ted opens a case, then he removes that barrier.

You can debate the is/is not all day long, but from a pure legal standpoint there is zero reason for Ted to weaken his legal position by accepting stupid legal advice.

You don’t risk a fight to win nothing. The courts have made it clear that the window of standing and those able to bring suit are very narrow. The real opportunity was for the states to control who is allowed on the ballot. Ted has already jumped through those hoops with no issues. In essence, he won that war... so why go back and give the other side a do-over? To protect the sensitive feelings of the trumpeteers? No thank you.
