I totally agree with you - it seems that “elites” love to brag about their colleges. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode of Hardball where Chris Matthews didn’t bring up either his degree or the degree/college of someone else on his show. This is because most of these people either do not have military backgrounds or business backgrounds. When I was young, my elders either spoke about their army backgrounds or their jobs at IBM, GM, Western Electric, Philip Morris and Pfizer! None of them mentioned how they won a debating contest as a sophomore!

I remember a friend of mine telling me never to date or marry a man who continued to wear his college ring into his late twenties. At the time I didn’t understand - but now I do!

You are right.....the elites do love to brag about college. It’s like they never grew up or they don’t think they have done anything valuable since college. Most of these types are very insecure and emotionally immature. And as weird as it is, they don’t even stop in their 70’s. There is a guy that plays golf and he is always giving us his bio starting with the list of degrees he has. He believes we are impressed but in reality all we care about is that he gets under par.
