That said, if London is the heart of Britain, and Tokyo is the heart of Japan...then NYC is the heart of the U.S.
BTW, I am a Southerner (born and raised in South GA), but spent a big part of my career in NYC.
I despise the City's liberal side as much as all we Freepers do. When you live there, you can literally feel the communist influence. Taking the Wall St express bus downtown each morning from the Upper East side, I would see an old building on the lower eastside that had painted on it "Workers of the World Unite." There were little hints all over town like that.
Disgusting stuff
But, as an economic, legal, social, literary, musical, artistic, and cultural center, NYC is still America's heart, in my humble opinion.
first of all, I don’t know or care if London is the heart of Britain or if Tokyo is the heart of Japan. Second, those are phony analogies.....I suspect London is far more representative of all British thinking than NYC is of all American thinking. Ditto the Tokyo/Japan flawed analogy.
All the good things you like about NY are things...all you hate about NY are the VALUEs.
