Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz issued an apology to "millions of New Yorkers" at a campaign event Friday - but it's probably not the one they were looking for.
"I apologize to the millions of New Yorkers who have been let down by liberal politicians," Cruz told an audience in South Carolina.

I missed the debate last night because I wound up having to work. I’ll take your word for it.
Unfortunately, from what I understand Trump couldn’t exactly defend his birtherism and “he took it” because indeed this only became such a “concerning issue” to Trump once Cruz’s poll numbers became a concerning issue to Trump. Real dedicated to the constitution and the letter of the law Mr. Trump is. Plus, he was so concerned for Ted’s general well being that instead of being “helpful” at the outset and “advising” Cruz he might want to nip this in the bud early on, he said Ted was absolutely fine and there wasn’t any problems.
But I will say this. ALL candidates should fight harder to articulate their positions and fight to rebut criticisms. I wish that Jeb would fight back when Trump hits him with “illegal immigration is an act of love.” Not because I want Jeb, and quite frankly I’m not sure how he could successfully try to spin that into something positive. But at least do something to defend or explain yourself instead of grinning like an idiot.
I think a lot of it is the format itself personally. And maybe whatever bad advice their staff gives them on how to approach these things.

Trump is Hitlery’s nemesis. He will cream her. Chop her up and spit her out. Cruz, with his Mickey Mouse voice (his voice grates just about as much as Hillary’s does) would do half as well.
Trump NEVER called Carly “ugly”, though she is and She kept on breaking into other candidate’s answsers, without being called on. He was right and YOU are not only a liar, but stupid.
As an EX New York resident from outside the city, I assure you that NYC deserves the bad name it gets without imports. The liberalism it exports across the state has turned the rest of the place into Detroit thanks to greenies wanting vacation spots, liberals taxing and taking for NYC and a lot more.
No not all NYC people are evil liberals. Most of them are.

At this point, he all he has is internet videos, altering famous quotes and insulting voting blocks.
I feel for him. He’s a solid conservative and reputedly smart, but it isn’t evident in his communication.
Plus the whole Goldman Sachs thing.
At this point, I’d guess Rubio has a better chance than Cruz.
I’m in Los Angeles so I’m used to seeing the liberal dreams here..would love to one day move to Texas or another conservative area just so I can see what it feels like to live amongst people who share my views

I live in TX now, in a conservative town. I was actually shocked to see a Hillary bumper sticker the other day.
When shooting oneself in the foot, its unwise to reload and shoot yourself in the other foot. Especially within the space of 48 hours.
Apparently Senator Cruz is running to be President of the portion of the population that completely agrees with him, and the rest of the populstion be damned. We’ve had eight years of that, and I think a lot of folks are getting really tired of it. Including myself.
Team Cruz is spinning so fast to paint Trump a NY Liberal that they are forgetting that two can play this game. Now the Super Pac ads will cut Cruz to pieces for being a typical hypocritical politician: “Goldman Sachs’ Principled Conservative”.
Hillary doesn't play by the rules.
