No, Eisenhower defeating the Dem nominee wasn't required in order to save the Republic. It was a Christian nation. 88 percent white, 12 percent black. No Mexicans. Not a single damn Muzzie in sight. Anti-Communist. There was no proposal to fundamentally transform the place, no chance that 4 years of a Dem would end America.

This election is existential. Win it with the wrong Republican and we lose America through amnesty and political correctness. Lose it to a Dem and there will be amnesty and national health care to replace Obamacare, and replacement of American voters by new ones. It will be all over for us, the remnants.

So, nice try, but this isn't 1952. That was America. This isn't.

The Eisenhower people used “Taft Can’t Win” to defeat the Ohioan. I believe Trump will use “Cruz Can’t Win” if it becomes necessary for him to do so. But there were communist sympathizers in the USA in the 1950s, probably more than Khrushchev thought.
