Rudy Giuliani: Ted Cruz’s view of New York’s ‘values’ completely ignores city’s strength
NY Daily News ^

Posted on 01/15/2016 12:08:19 PM PST by springwater13

After all we have been through as a city and as one undivided nation, to have a United States senator running for President paint New York as a city consumed with greed, sin and media obsession is shocking. Sen. Ted Cruz should apologize to the people of New York for his remarks and to the people of the United States for his crass attempt to divide us. And whatever our inclinations in the presidential race, all of us should be proud of Donald Trump's strong, truthful and eloquent defense of our great city and nation.

As the late, great New Yorker, Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, made clear in his authoritative analysis of the federal budget, every year New York sends billions of dollars more to Washington, D.C., than Washington sends to us. And one of the reasons for that is Wall Street, the financial engine that makes all the programs we support, Republican, Democrat and bi-partisan, possible. When Sen. Cruz and so many of the other candidates of both parties come to New York City, they seem pretty happy to be here and are more than willing to take our money.

Well if you're willing to take our money, then show us the respect we deserve and earned and don't try to divide us from our fellow Americans.

Trump is a FAMILY man BIG TIME.

Don't you mean FAMILY man THREE times?

How come FReepers jumped all over Gingrich for his three marriages, but for Trump it's no big deal?

“You better read what Cruz said. He wasn’t attacking Cuomo. We don’t need another divider in chief.”

I never said he was attacking Cuomo, did I?

He was attacking the type of values encapsulated by Cuomo’s words for NY: liberalism.

And we do need someone who takes down the ‘everybody needs to get along” mentality like W preached. I want someone who calls a spade a spade, is moral as the Bible teaches, and is unafraid to take down immorality, whether it is Homosexuals, feminism, abortion, or anti-religious teachings.

Thank God we have an opportunity to vote for a man who does not cower to liberalism, and the PC it foments.

Because there's a BIG difference between Newtie's three marriages and Trump's! Trump didn't divorce a wife with cancer, etc.!

You have blinkers on!

When Cruz was trying to actually defeat Obamacare with his filibuster, Savage said, “Cruz will never be president because he’s a loser and Americans hate losers.” Then he started talking about meatball sandwich recipes.

If you think it’s stupid, it must be working.

If YOU believe that it's a smart thing to do, then I that it was more imbecilic than I think it is.

You have lousy political comprehension.

While New Yorkers will probably not forget his diss, by the time Cruz gets the nomination, the south will have long forgotten what he said about NY.

Pro tip: The South doesn't give two hoots about NYC.

New Yorkers have long memories.

They're really going to punish that Cruz guy by not giving him their usual GOP electoral votes...

Are you REALLY that much of a political naif?

N.Y. has a GOP primary and a LOT of delegates.

Yes, there really were ( notice the past tense !) Cruz supporters in the city and state. NOT NOW !

New Yorkers also now live all over this nation and they are offended. Do you know how many ex-pat New Yorkers now live in Texas, Florida, and both Carolinas? More than enough to NOT give those primaries to Cruz!

And IF Trump is the nominee...N.Y. is in play, as is N.E., Pa., and many more. With Cruz? ROTFLMSO !

Those NY transplants usually vote Democrat. Ask the natives of those areas.

Live in PA but born and bred in Virginia, and we really have no use for New Yawk City and its miserable transplants who have infested the northern part of the Commonwealth.

Too bad Cruz is a phony who runs off to NYC whenever he can, to get money or loans.

NY values:
Chuck Schumer. Mayor DeBlasio. Mayor Bloomberg. Senator Clinton. John Kerry. Al Gore. No salt in restaurants. No guns. No sodas bigger than 16 ounce. Same sex marriage. LGBT on parade. High taxes. Corrupt government unions.

THOSE are NY values.
