Trump said they are wasting money bailing out the savings and loans. 1991. Politicians never learn.

No credit needed. Just two nights of insomnia. One when I first saw it another when hunting it down last night.

Just continue to share

It really brings to life Alice Coopers comments about the public personna and the other side of him

The argument the CRUZ ers are giving is that Reagn was president in 1986 so Trump is attacking Reagan.
The truth:
Xxxxxxxxxxx

Reagan just signed the bills. — second term — onset of Alzheimer’s

The U.S. Senate election, 1986 was an election for the United States Senate in the middle of Ronald Reagan’s second presidential term. The Republicans had to defend an unusually large number of freshman Senate incumbents who had been elected on President Ronald Reagan’s coattails in 1980. Democrats won a net of eight seats, defeating seven freshman incumbents and regaining control of the Senate for the first time since 1980. The party not controlling the presidency gained seats, as usually occurs in mid-term elections.

The United States House of Representatives election, 1986 was held on November 4, 1986, in the middle of President Ronald Reagan’s second term in office. As in most midterm elections, the President’s party—in this case, the Republican Party — lost seats, with the Democratic Party gaining a net of five seats and cementing its majority. These results were not as dramatic as those in the Senate, where the Republicans lost control of the chamber to the Democrats. Notable freshmen include future House Speaker Dennis Hastert (R-IL).

Whether it was early onset Alzheimers or not Trump is correct and Reagan was wrong and Reagan would probably agree with Trump now. He might even have agreed with him then.

The Cruzers have made Reagan a saint just like they are making Cruz a saint.

Cruz doesn’t have much in common with the Reagan I remember.

Reagan was a light in the world. He believed in the American people. He lived the principles of conservatism without preaching to people. He certainly never divided people with comments about regional values.

You and I lived the Reagan years and I loved him but I am not going to try to make him into a saint. He was a wonderful, warm, loving person who believed in people, loved his country, believed in a strong military, and still made an occasional mistake.

I think one of those mistakes was keeping Bush in his second term. He was forced by the GOP to pick him in his first term but he should have cut him loose in his second term.

I think we may learn that Bush was running his own operation during his term as vice president in the Roger Stone book coming out abut the Bush family.

Agree with you completely
My dad had every book written about Reagan but still understood he was just a man We read and discussed them together ( He wanted to die in his Regan t shirt but it was soiled and had to be switched to IU lol. Love that man! Sense of humor till the very end )

LOL. My dad loved Reagan too and hated Bush.

He lived in Florida when Jeb was governor and I remember him saying that although Jeb did a desent job as governor he didn’t really trust any Bush.

I wish he were alive today so that I could get his take on this election. I think he would be in Trump’s corner but I would love to hear his thoughts.

When my dad was eighteen he had a brain tumor. His doctor told him without surgery he would die and that with surgery he would probably die. He gave him a 10% chance of survival and told him he would probably be paralyzed from the surgery.

Dad opted for the surgery and was paralyzed for about a year. He slowly worked his way back and ended up with just his left arm paralyzed.

He didn’t let it stop him though. He built a very successful life and lived to be 90.

He was the wisest most determined person I have ever known or probably will ever know.

We are both very lucky to have had the dads we had.

A man with a lot of experience and obviously, a gentleman.

The Donald Trump of 1991 is a refined, knowledgeable gentleman who speaks in clear, firm tones.

The Donald Trump of 2016 is a brash, outspoken, knowledgeable man who speaks in often unclear, un-detailed terms.

I say this as a Trump fan and supporter here on FR: I wish Donald Trump would act more like the Trump of 1991 than the Trump of 2016. How much more POWERFUL would his message be if he refined and restrained his anger and focused it even more?

It appears he's "working on that" and has a ways to go. He needs to get there soon.

Again, I say that as a Trump supporter.

I think we're all a lot angrier than we were in 1991....particularly at government. I'm fuming...right along with Trump. And I am a lot more outspoken than I was 25 years ago.

I never dreamed I would call the president of the US a muzzie and a jerk...among other things.

Oh, I've called him much worse. Not that I'm proud of some of the things that have come out of my mouth @ Obama or typed on here (I'm not ....) I just have.

Yes, I agree: I'm much angrier at our government since 1991. So much so I've literally had to shut up about it. If people knew what I really thought (I've alluded to some of that on here..) I'd likely get picked up, shipped off to gitmo myself and get the waterboarding treatment.

I hope I'm in the majority here......
