I can see you’ve never contracted with the federal govt.
They can take 5 to 6 months to pay for your services. They aren’t supposed to but they do. Thats AFTER they’ve accepted the work.
Thats after some govt functionary has screwed with you for months because they can. Changing requirements, not responding, not making decisions. It goes on forever.
Maybe they did test the mic. Maybe Trump broke it?
Maybe Trump coulda asked for a different mic and continued on with his day. Addressing the quality concerns after he delivered his message.

Just because A is better than B doesn’t mean B is awful and isn’t a viable alternative (might even work better, even though I’d prefer the other).
It’s not worship to recognize strong, if sometimes abrasive, leadership.
Big jobs don’t get done right when “understanding” undermines expensive (in dollars & lives) goals. You can be sure EVERY microphone Trump uses for the next 10 years will WORK RIGHT ... along with pretty much everything else.
Then there’s the under-discussed possibility that the sound tech _picked_ a bad mic for Trump, in a small “deniable” way to undermine.
Oh, oh.. Trump Derangement Syndrome.
I watched the whole thing live on the Internet and I kept thinking, "man the audio on this feed sucks".. then Trump made the comment about the bad mic and I then made the connection with what was actually going on.
I'm with you. If you can't do it right the first time then get the hell out of the way and let someone who does.
This issue is proving to be an interesting litmus test: are the FReepers commenting more interested in being nice, or being successful? and interesting that some of the former are, conversely, NOT being nice about their demand that other FReepers agree that being nice should dominate ... rather Leftist, no?

At such major events, it needs to work the first time. There is no excuse. Testing includes moving the mics around, the position of the speakers head, orbital range of the speaker’s mouth, and so on. Yeh, Trump broke it. Then get better quality equipment! No excuses.
