My mother died “from horribly painful pancreatic cancer”. I wouldn’t wish that kind of horror on any of my fellow Americans.

I'm sure you're aware that Laz is known for massive fits of hyperbole...lol. He didn't really mean it.
Every now and then, I'll make comments about "putting me out of my misery if I get Alzheimer's." My mother passed away last month from that disease, and she had no idea of who her family members were the last several years of her life. I doubt I'll have her longevity, but I learned a lot from her suffering, and I don't want to put my family through that.
God bless you and your departed mother. Mine is gone, too, and I can tell you there is no easy way to die.
I earnestly hope you have found peace, and I pray the suffering your mother endured is more than made up for it, now that she is in the presence of Christ.
That said: I still wish with all my heart that every employee of the New York Gaily News dies slowly, screaming in agony, from horribly painful pancreatic cancer.
