I liked Cruz's line about "New York values" ... 

No one on Planet Earth can honestly believe that Ted Cruz was dissing New York over 9/11 ... 

I didn't like it, and I'm a huge Cruz fan. A lot of my friends back in Long Island, good hard-working Conservatives all, were pretty P.O'd about it.

In the Midwest and South of the country, it has been a long tradition to criticize NYC. Do you recall the ads on tv about the battle between the two major salsa companies?

Midwesterners have been the but of jokes from NYC for years and the payback is well understood.

To make this about 9/11 is like pulling the race card to end a argument.
