... he's conservative, but he's not a leader of men. You know what I love about this forum is that it's like a conversation with brothers -- or maybe a bunch of guys at a bar. Except at a bar you rarely have good conversations because there's lots of distractions or a football game is blaring on 4 big screens. You make a good point and I'm going to take a slightly different tack. Cruz is definitely a leader of men because a big 20% of GOP voters are supporting him. And were not for Trump being in the game, Cruz would probably walk away with the nomination. Trump has changed the rules big time. The well-crafted and rehearsed speeches that politicians give are what we expect of a Presidential candidate. That's been the style up to now. But we've never had a big city real estate developer running for President! And I think you can definitely say New York made Donald Trump what he is. So I'm lovin' the idea of what this brash New Yorker could do for the country. His life accomplishments are incredible. He's earned peoples' trust. He's not bought. And on some issues, he may actually be more conservative than his opponents. And where he sounds liberal, I think some of that is positioning himself to win Democrats and Independents over. |
As a native Californian, I think I can say that NY is just as messed up as CA.
True, New York is messed up — it’s also the greatest city in the world!
Remember the Sinatra song? If Trump can make it there, he’ll make it anywhere.
True, New York does have issues, but it wasn’t wise for Cruz to insult a whole state.
