If a tariff is placed on an item manufactured in China for sale in the US the price of said widget to the consumer goes up.
Wouldn't that then give an incentive to manufacture said item here in the US? US made and offered to the US consumer at a price lower than Chinese good with the tariff? I would like the jobs here instead of a plant in China.
