We watched the debate with 10 friends-who politically are all over the map. All of them were really impressed with Cruz until he got to the NY comment and doubled down on his insults. All the people in the room said they found the comments offensive and they thought he was being a jerk. It really changed their opinion of him. Again, a really stupid mistake by Cruz.
Cruz implied it, not me.LOL.
It’s been debunked by Treepers, the Twitter accounts were not the real reporters’ accounts
“Jeb shouldn’t have been at the debate.”
True, neither should have Kasich
Yeah, I remember that Bush daddy told that very lie, then Clinton told the same lie, then his brother assured us, now here we go again, this is really an insult to anyone paying attention,
Cruz will blame everybody if he loses Iowa.
Cruz supporters
If you think Donald can "Make America Great Again" without God's help you're going to be disappointed if he gets elected to high office.
John Adams said "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people, it is wholly inadequate to the government of any other".
This is a salient point that I gleaned from Cruz’s “performance” last night. Cruz made the statement about Trumps mother not to clarify, or honestly answer the question, but to mask his own citizenship issue. He believes that the electorate is so stupid, that he can tell them anything, and they will believe it. He is a fast talking used car salesman. When the prospective buyer wants to look under the hood, Cruz wants to open the trunk. A smart buyer will walk away..I certainly have.
If Clinton's best friend Trumpster doesn't move ahead in the Iowa polls after his birther smears, expect his mud slinging to get even uglier.
TRUMP 54.43% (164,653 votes)
CRUZ 31.31% (94,705 votes)
RUBIO 7.54% (22,795 votes)
CHRISTIE 2.05% (6,213 votes)
KASICH 1.67% (5,042 votes)
CARSON 1.53% (4,623 votes)
BUSH 1.47% (4,465 votes)
Total Votes: 302,496
From what I heard I learned a few things.
#1 Jeb is out of touch and stubborn.
#2 the establishment hates Trump from all sides and even Fox edged toward promoting other candidates against Trump (somewhat).
#3 As brilliant as Cruz was including with his planned attacks (which is fine) on Trump, Donald proved to again be at least two steps ahead, but even with Cruz.
#4 Trump is not the perfect conservative, but I am realizing we are getting to see one of the most brilliant minds in history especially now in politics.
Off the cuff he killed Cruz with his New York comments. William F B was one of the best conservatives and came from New York, and Donald painted graphic pictures in our mind with his words about the stuff people of New York are made of. Totally handed Junior his lunch.
#5 I like Donald because I find him to be a capable leader who has done big things in life unlike any politician. I thought he was just a real smart patriot who could also speak well, defend himself and speak like few could.
Now I add we have one of the most legitimately brilliant people ever IMO running for office.
Spot On! I was actually nodding my head in agreement with everything you said..well done.
“NBC TRUMP 2016”
Benedict Arnold was a great American Patriot and leader, until he wasn’t.
Cruz doubled down on the NY values comments and lost big. He should have very genuinely said he misspoke and apologized to NYâers and told them he thinks they are great Americans and moved on from this gaff. Now it will haunt him for a long time.
The birth issue is already settled. McCain ran and he had the same kind of birth to U.S. citizens not on U.S. soil.
McCain had “Two Citizen Parents”, Teddy is shy One..
Lord. Rubio is eligible. Once your Mother puts her foot on American soil and gives birth, you are a citizen. That easy.
Being a citizen “don’t make ya” eligible to serve as POTUS or VPOTUS..you must be NBC, (Two Citizen Parents).
However, as “citizens”, Rubio and Cruz can both vote for Trump..
The only thing that will be remembered about the “debate” is Trump’s comeback with the 9/11 story. Then Cruz smirking and grinning at him as he told Cruz he had offended New Yorkers. Cruz seems to have forgotten that he was raised in Houston, Texas, the great bastion of liberalism in Texas, a town that has a radical lesbian mayor. I did like Cruz, and of course I’ll vote for him if he gets the nomination (though I don’t think it’s gonna happen), but his constant invoking Ronald Reagan as his great example in life, when Cruz was in grade school when Reagan was elected, and his grinning and self-righteous “I’m smarter than you are” attitude is a real put-off. There’s really nothing to like about his personality. He reminds of a fast-talking lawyer because that’s exactly what he is. And enough of the bluejeans and flannel shirts when he’s on the stump in Iowa. Put on a suit and look like a professional and not a phony trying to pander for votes.
Cruz has no room to talk about liberal NY values. Cruz is from the Houston, Texas, the most liberal city in the SW United States, currently being ran by a radical lesbian major.
