>>I am convinced liberals have infested this website.
Liberals or Progressives? In the beginning of the Progressive movement, there was a difference. Then, the two merged into one for a long time, but now they have diverged again.
In the same time frame, Conservatism grew out of classical liberalism when the Liberals merged with the Progressives. A few decades ago, conservatism merged with Globalism (which was always aligned with the Progressives and that was the birth of the UniParty). The Conservatives who didn’t believe in Wall-Street-Over-Everything-Else split off to become something like the TEA Party.
These days, there is no such thing as a “liberal”. We have the Ideological Conservative, the Transnational Progressive, the Democratic Socialist, and the Nationalist. There are subsets within each major category and many people that occupy more than one category on different topics.
So, when someone starts accusing everyone at FR that they disagree with of being a “liberal”, I wonder if they are unaware of the complexities of modern politics or merely living in a simpler time (in their head).
Good post, Bry.
