Whatever the rules, how is it that half the people vying for top public offices have foreign parents? Is it just too few fully blooded Americans care to get into politics, or maybe these folks who were bred to know America for all it should be are inspired to follow this path? Whether it’s Rubio, Cruz, Jindal, or Haley, they all had at least one foreign parent who came to America to pursue their dreams.
In fairness, Trump's mother was born in Scotland.
I’ve been asking myself this question for weeks now.
Well the “official” numbers of foreign born residents according to the 2010 census is 39 million plus or 13% of the population.
When this political cycle started there were 26 major candidates for both parties. So, just running the numbers, there should be 2-3 candidates with foreign born parents.
That we have so many ineligible candidates is another failure of the education system, which has produced a general lack of understanding of American Civics.
Even here on the most conservative website there are plenty of people who do not want the Constitution upheld if it excludes their favorite ineligible.
