[[And of course it means âa native Americanâ, so he is whether anyone likes it or not, not eligible.]]
I must have missed when the courts settled that issue- do you have a link?
I must have missed when Canada was not part of the Americas, but that would be an insane path to follow. LOL
I suppose one could view that as "not settled" because the people don't have uniform belief; or it could be viewed as unsettled because SCOTUS has never ruled on citizenship in a presidential election contest case (but it has decided that other people born abroad of a citizen mother and alien father are naturalized); or it could be viewed as unsettled because there a few media figures (celebrity legal scholars) break from the herd and and contend that being born with only a statutory claim to citizenship means the candidate was naturalized.
But the way I see it, each voter will settle the issue, and that settles that. All one have to do is believe.
Is it settled that Neil Armstrong walked on the moon? Well guess what, some people say he didn't. In the year 1600, it was settled that the sun orbits the earth. Today, it it settled that there is such a thing as global warming, and it is caused by human activity. And just as surely, it is settled that Ted Cruz is a natural born citizen of the United States. Saying it is so, makes it so, period, end of discussion. The side with the bigger herd wins.
