Republicans give different State of the Union responses in English and Spanish

Republicans give different State of the Union responses in English and Spanish - with Latinos hearing about a 'legislative solution' to fix immigration

Spanish speakers were treated to a slightly different Republican State of the Union response last night as Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart suggested that immigration needed a 'legislative solution.'

South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley's response in English lacked that line, the Miami Herald pointed out.

The paper called Diaz-Balart's thoughts on the topic 'decidedly softer.'

The point wouldn't be so glaring if the two speeches weren't so similar to begin with.

In Haley's speech she said, 'No one who is willing to work hard, abide by our laws, and love our traditions should ever feel unwelcome in this country,' the South Carolina governor said.

That line in Diaz-Balart's speech is identical, according to the Miami-Herald's translation of his words.

'At the same time, that does not mean we just flat out open our borders,' Haley said. 'We can't do that. We cannot continue to allow immigrants to come here illegally. And in this age of terrorism, we must not let in refugees whose intentions cannot be determined.'

Diaz-Balart's part begins the same, but he doesn't mention terrorism by name nor refugees, and instead talks about fixing the system.

'At the same time, it's obvious that our immigration system needs to be reformed,' Diaz-Balart said. 'The current system puts our national security at risk and is an obstacle for our economy.'

Now here's the big difference.

Haley simply talks about a 'fix.'

'We must fix our broken immigration system,' she said. 'That means stopping illegal immigration. And it means welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion. Just like we have for centuries.'

Diaz-Balart looks to Congress to act.

The Cheap Labor Express owns the GOP/RNC.

Trump seems to be the wrench available to throw into their wheels.

A Spanish version of the State of the Union address says a lot about the state of our Union.

Not to worry. The next Republican response can be in Esperanto so that all can understand their treachery towards America.

Wait.

That’s what the Arabs do. They say what we want to hear in English and then say something else in their native tongue.

Except in this case, Spanish isn’t the GOPe’s native tongue. As much as they want it to be, apparently...

If these politicians have to pander to people in the US, or for that matter, mexico and south america, in spanish to get a vote, they need to pack their asses up and move to south of the border.

And, if you need your ballot to be printed in spanish, you do not need to vote.

A good example of why a President must be native born.

These two politicians, Gov. Nikki Haley and Diaz-Balart, don't put American citizens first.

They are still putting their fellow immigrants first. They have not completly adapted as American citizens.

Imagine if they were running for President - Jeb clones - Illegal immigration is an ‘act of love’.

We can't survive with foreign loyalties put before our own best interests.
