Donald Trump is no Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a Republican for considerably a long time before becoming president.
Donald Trump has supported and donated to Democrats as recent as 2010 - Harry Reid!
(when he was registered as a Republican.)
Ronald Reagan:
President: 1981-1989
Republican (1962 and after)
Democratic (before 1962)
Donald Trump began his career as a little bit of everything. But mainly he identify's mostly as a democrat.
Donald Trump:
Republican (2012–present)
Independent (2011–12)
Republican (2009–11)
Democratic (2001–09)
Reform (1999–2001)
Republican (1987–99)
Democratic (Before–1987)

Thank you for admitting that Reagan was a Democrat.

Your timeline shows Reagan was a Dem a few years before he ran for elective office as a GOPer. Hardly different than Trump.

Trump is more Reagan than Cruz. Reagan never carried his religion on his sleeve - and Reagan was married more than once. Reagan was more of a social moderate in that he said, "Just say no to drugs" and never believed one should "antagonize those living on the fringe."
Reagan solidified social security and put 100% tariffs on Japanese electronics. But more than anything else Reagan believed in the Constitution of providing for the 'general Welfare' by placing America first - not global corporate interests.
Cruz for sure is a social conservative, a religious social conservative. But Reagan was not. Cruz is not any of the above things that Reagan was.
