Trump offered prescient advice on how to deal with this. It could’ve been a dead issue, by now, if CRuz would’ve only heeded the timely advice.

What’s he hiding, that he won’t have the Declaratory Judgement filed? Maybe nothing at all, but it sure makes it look fishy. Just do it, and be done with it. That would be the best way to get EVERYONE to stop talking about it. Maybe he will.

I’ve read most of this thread. Would have read it all if Smitty had not started jumping up and down for his walk.

But if I discern the general tenor of the thread, it is that some of the Trump people have suddenly disappeared or become less strident and the Cruz people seem to feel pretty good about the situation.

The reason is that Trump may have actually jumped that ocean menace this time.

A party cannot file for a declaratory judgment unless there is an actual "case or controversy." Who would be the other party to the declaratory judgment action? Has any state registrar threatened to keep Cruz off of the ballot?

Just because Trump said that Cruz should file for a declaratory judgment, doesn't mean that Cruz CAN file for a declaratory judgment.
