This is really a stretch. Most smokers take about three times that many smoke breaks.


They wouldn’t be on my payroll, then.

They typically don’t take long, but heavy smokers duck out a lot. A former co-worker of mine (ironically he since died from complications of COPD) used to smoke about two packs a day. if you figure out he was awake 16 hours a day 40 cigarettes into 16 hours = one cigarette every 24 minutes. And he vanished about twice an hour for a short period.
