It was the “everyone should be able to buy a home” thing that ended in the ‘08 collapse and Fannie/Freddie owning the vast majority of homes. So now they go after a person’s second biggest expense, college tuition. They make it unaffordable by their subsidizing and policies, then they come to the rescue with cheap student loans for everyone. Wall Street gets rich, the game collapses, the gov’t bails them out, and the gov’t now owns the vast majority of college graduates?
