I’ve had good Brit friends vacation in Turkey and love it as well. But, like you say, once you are out of the resort and tourist spots, it gets a lot more dicey. Unfortunately, Turkey is leaving its secular success of the past few years and is becoming Islamist again. This was starting to happen when my daughter wanted to study there and Moslems were beginning to attack young western women. It is SO much worse now only five years later.

Thanks for your kind words, too.

WHAT a shame.
The worm will turn, though, as Turkey relies HEAVILY on tourism. Most tourism comes from the West. Many Christians want to see all those "church caves" and see where Christianity found such early success.
Turkey wants/needs DOLLARS and EUROS.
Cappadocia, Turkey: underground Cities and Cave Churches. This was where the early church, that would be the Catholic Church, practiced their faith...in secret.
I had never heard about them before and was appalled at the entire idea. Made me think of Herod and the Roman Empire.

Thanks for your kind words, too.
You're welcome.
