yeah, been there a couple of times...western turkey.
Izmir, Cesme, and of course, Ephesus.
so much history in anatolia...it is staggering.
Haj Amin al-Husseini became great friends with Hitler and the Nazi leadership, particularly Reichsfuhrer Heinrich Himmler. Together, Himmler, Reinhard Heydrich and Haj Amin al-Husseini planned the “Final Solution” to the Jewish problem. When Heydrich was assassinated by Czech patriots, his deputy, Adolf Eichmann, assumed his duties in the extermination of the Jews.
Haj Amin al-Husseini and Himmler organized 44,000 Muslims into two SS Mountain Divisions (13th “Handshar” and 21st “Skanderbeg”). These two SS divisions engaged in anti-partisan operations in Yugoslavia and the Balkans from 1943 to 1945.
When the days of the Third Reich were numbered, Haj Amin al-Husseini escaped first to France and then Egypt. The British refused to indict Husseini as a war criminal and the French refused extradition of Husseini to Yugoslavia, Greece, and Iraq for trial as a war criminal. Both were afraid such trials would make him a martyr in the eyes of the Arab world.
“Muslims are coming from nations where the average IQs are below 83, all the way down to the middle 60s.”
I guess the ones who show up in Germany must not be representative as they seem to be masters of Android and other technology.
“Izmir, Cesme, and of course, Ephesus.”
I was there only for a day, and the middle name I don’t recognize,
(cont) but was most impressed by the historic importance and the feeling of spirituality around Ephesus.
We have lots of mentally challenged people right here in the USA playing with their smart phones all day. I guess it doesn’t take too much smarts.
STAGGERING is the appropriate word here.
Mary's house at Ephesus. I shed a few tears there.
St. John did take Mary along with him and Mary had to have been in her late 40's. No wonder she passed away. It must have been a tortuous journey.
Here I am. :) You’re wrong. I have four daughters, 18 to 25.
The 25, 23, and almost 20 year old never hated me, even at 15.
The 18 year old has probably hated me on and off since she was 12. She’ll eventually get over it, too.
Broad brush and all that.
Well, I was an instructor for 44 years, the first 17 years at the high school grades and the last 27 at the college level, so I DO know many age groups.
I was only speaking from my decades of experience and I DID expect more people like you to contradict me and tell me just how THEIR children were nothing like the prototype I described.
Perhaps you should practice your painting a bit more with LESS of a "broad brush and all that," especially since I care not at all about your experiences at parenting. No disrespect intended.
By the way, your call sign is PERFECT for you. Well done in your choice.
Naive kids do need guidance.
Elin Krantz was 27 years old. She may have been naive but she was not a kid.
What happened to her was awful just like it’s awful when it happens anywhere to anyone. My college sophomore is a nursing student and wanted to do a winter break session or summer session in Guatemala or Brazil.I was all like, “why?” because it’s something I never wanted to do as a kid/young adult/college student/ever. But she’s a better person than me. I discouraged it because I didn’t want to worry about her more than I already do plus we have needs right here she could do but they’re not a part of any college program.
So I told her when she graduates college and wants to travel as a nurse to some third world country then more power to her but until then, she’s not going unless she pays for it herself. I’ll still worry, I’ll still discourage her but, by then I won’t have a say in her decisions.
A 27 year old is not a child or a kid. She’s an adult and she made her choices, none of which included her being raped and murdered. I wouldn’t dream of telling my 25 and 23 year old children what they can and can’t do.The almost 20 year old and the 18 year old, yeah I can still do that to a certain extent. We have to prepare them for the world.
LMAO I have no idea what you mean by a “call sign” nor do I care.
I’ve taught high school and middle school for over 25 years. KMA
You have an opinion. Not a fact, just an opinion. Like me.
” I DID expect more people like you to contradict me and tell me just how THEIR children were nothing like the prototype I described.”
And why wouldn’t you since your prototype is bullshit? Glad you saw it beforehand. I would have thought you were just another moron had you not.
And you birthed or parented how many children, not including all those students you taught?
Some days I wouldn’t even dream of telling my 4.5 yr old what to do.
She is a chick, after all, and very headstrong.
