It is a rock band that has developed a rep as being lame and thus liking them makes you lame as well.

They are a very commercially successful rock band that have a distinctive sound; you know it is a Nickleback song when you hear it. This trait, however, has led to much derision for being very formulaic and the claim that every Nickleback song sounds alike. To be identified as a Nickleback fan is not a positive thing. Think ABBA in the 70’s. Lotsa people had their albums, but no one admitted it.

Or a Michael Bolton fan in the 80s.

“I never said that” is his go to phrase. If that doesn’t work, Trump talks in extremely vague language.

An example is his stance on Obamacare. When questioned about it, only a few months ago, he said he would replace it. Replace it with what? “Something terrific” He told us not to worry and that he would take care of everyone. What the hell does that mean? It means nothing. It is typical liberal flatulence that Trump expels. No conservative wants Obamacare replaced. Conservatives want it repealed! What is this mystical and magical “terrific” something? No one knows. Probably not even Trump. But people have, in their own minds, a vision of what that something terrific is so they project their vision onto Trump’s nothing statement.

As another poster pointed out to me, from Trump’s Art of the Deal: “My leverage came from confirming an impression they were already predisposed to believe.”

No, Trump has never explained his supposed 180 degree change in worldview. Even now, being unable to speak the language of conservatism, he doesn’t even try. He just tells you everything and everyone is terrible and that he decided to do it himself.

And Mexico is going to pay for a wall. The Mexicans haven’t responded to that statement yet. They haven’t quit laughing long enough to do so.

OK, but, wasn’t there an article about the two girl group Prussian Blue supporting Trump? Election time, mud slung in every direction, gotta love it. If your position is weak, sling heavier mud.

Nice, gator. Or Kenny G in the 90’s, maybe?

I’ve heard that, if you play a Nickleback album backwards, you’ll hear a message from Satan. It’s even worse if you play it forward - you’ll hear Nickleback!

I used to like Nickelback but I’ve moved on as my musical tastes get more sophisticated. I’m into Coldplay now. I’m also taking a hard look at Maroon 5.

Interesting points. Something to consider.

I think the “Mexicans paying for a wall” can be accomplished by deducting the cost from the enormous aid we are continuously sending them.

Many cruzers claim that Trump is merely an opportunist, and can’t be trusted. Was that also said of Reagan during his election bid?

Reagan's conversion to conservatism was a lengthy process that was completed long before he began running for office. Trump's "conversion" has taken much less time.

What is nickelback?

The only "nickel back" I've ever heard of is a position in football on a formation known as the "nickel defense."

And Congress will go along with that? Beyond Democrats that want open borders and sending “aid” you also have the McCains, Grahams and Rubios of the Republican party.

It will NEVER happen.

What is nickelback?

It's like this. If some dude came up to you and said, "If you give me $0.05 I'll give you every recording a certain Canadian band ever made." After you listen to the first few seconds you will say, "I want my nickelback". Hence the name.

I've been thinking about this for a while ... one way it may be accomplished would be to slap a huge surtax on remittance transfers to Mexico.

If Pedro wants to wire $100 of the under-the-table cash to his madre in Oaxaca, make him pony up $200.

Or if you like Village People, you must be queer.
