Did you know that it is impossible for a violinist to sing at the same time as they play?
That is because the very same parts of the brain are used for both.
However, someone who plays the violin can dance while playing but not sing.

Interesting. I can sing and play piano, but I can’t do both at the same time very well. I can play a simple rhythm part and sing, or I can do “call & response” style, like singing, then playing lead licks in between the lyrics, but I can’t play lead and sing at the same time.

I used to play the violin and I heard that singing was impossible while playing the violin so I tried it and I could sort of hum but that was it. I asked a well-known violinist if she could do it and she said she couldn't.
Natalie McMaster and some other violinists can dance jigs while playing but when they sing they have to drop their bows.
