Religious leaders see the impact of income inequality
Sacramento Bee ^ | January 9, 2016 | Susan Sward

On the streets and in their congregations, Sacramento’s pastors, reverends, bishops and rabbis see the toll taken by income inequality and the dwindling economic security of the middle class.

He believes immigration reform is key in the campaign against income inequality.

"Legalizing the status of millions of U.S. residents will help contribute to ending the kind of serious inequality currently plaguing our system. It will help end the kind of exploitation that drives down wages and makes it harder for everyone to make a fair wage for a fair day's work.

Yeah that's the ticket. Let's legalize millions of low wage, uneducated illegal aliens and the family members they will bring in. That will fix the lower wage job issue. Right.

Any Catholic bishop who promotes open borders and yaps about “income inequality” should be tarred and feathered, and put on a boat to Argentina to join Bergoglio in retirement.

If someone is hungry, homeless, poor, etc., it has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that someone else has more money.

More takers to reduce the size of a pie slice. Good idea.

So what is there solution?

It disgusts me that there is a move to repeal Obamacare. The point is the government needs to get work done for the people . . .

The situation in America is getting worse because a small percent have control over the economy and the politics.

Legalizing the status of millions of U.S. residents will help . . . It will help end the kind of exploitation that drives down wages and makes it harder for everyone to make a fair wage for a fair day's work.

Its all about the Social Justice and nothing about God. These "clergy" might as well be Communist Party commissars.

I guess these people don’t understand that income inequality stems from several factors: less education, lesser or no work ethic, lower intelligence to begin with, taking welfare so as to ‘stick it to the man’. Many people who whine about income inequality won’t do the work to lift themselves up. Too many in this once great country believe that others owe them an existence that most people achieve through hard work.

The Sacramento Bee is racist, and determined to force black citizens out of the workforce. Nothing could be more clear.

... income inequality ...

What is this constant barrage of rancid stinking fecal matter about "income inequality?" Do the proponents of this drivel think that some burger flipper or some bimbo one welfare should have the same income as a graduate engineer, a surgeon, a corporate executive? This is just another very thinly disguised attempt to get the drumbeat rolling for communism.

You will probably note that the same braying jackasses that are for this are also for gun control. (follow the NAZI model - disarm them, rob them, and then eliminate them)

As an economist who has voted republican down t he line I don’t know how people on this board can not be upset with income inequality. Sure the solutions the Demo propose ate bad but that does not.mean the problem.does not exist. We have regulated ourselves into this mess with crony Capitalism imo.

Exactly! More labor supply when there are almost no jobs for Americans — this will raise wages so high that every part- tjme ( due to Obamacare) burger-flipper will become able to buy a mansion and drive a lambroghinni — - and vote for Hillary!

Standard marxist class warfare nonsense. Marxist programs and corruption cause the problems fostered in part by Trojan horse political dogma preached from the pulpits.

You also have a government leviathan that is hell bent on destroying the private sector and economic opportunity.

RE:”Yeah that's the ticket. Let's legalize millions of low wage, uneducated illegal aliens and the family members they will bring in. That will fix the lower wage job issue. Right. “

That and high minimum (AKA living) wage laws.

How about $30 per hour? CA Illegals could live on that.

And paid work leave (mandated)?

And single payer health care medicare for all.

its so easy. Bernie Sanders is on top of this.

The people in the states are doing just fine. I am so sure that underground bartering and activity, families etc. has to be making up for the lack of any opportunities for other work for those who want to work. I look out and do not see suffering which can truly be called suffering here in America despite the left’s sad attempt to enslave us all. Tensions up no doubt but Obama just doesn’t scare me and he and they he’s aligned with in the rest of he world won’t win here. Too many Patriots/Christians even in this day and age.

We will survive Obama and this BS. In Jesus holy name we pray

Certainly a part of it. We have also outsourced much of our manufacturing base in the name of free trade. The area where many low skilled folks began their climb up the ladder. But fundemently there is simply too much taxation and government interference in business to allow business and people to prosper. And the poor people en-masse vote the people who destroy their futures into office. I am afraid I have little sympathy for people who constantly vote to destroy their own future and never learn from experience.
