This is the biggest death in music since Lennon in 1980. Even bigger than James Brown, Ray Charles or George Harrison. The sheer shock of it is part of it.

And as a fan, I would implore you to rediscover the man’s music. Genius, as David Cameron said, is an overused word, but Bowie is and will be one of the modern greats.

Gadzooks, and back in February of 2012, I told the death of Whitney Houston was the biggest death since John Lennon, James Brown, Ray Charles, George Harrison, etc--

I did know one or two of her songs but was not a fan at all.

It is evident that we define 'Genius' in two very different ways. If David Bowie was a genius... then I will be happy being just able to find my ass with both hands.
