Obama’s State of the Onion speech. It will make you cry.

I cry not for myself, but for my country.

— it would be stretch to describe Wilson's revival of the in-person State of the Union address as his worst offense. But it's on the list.

Add creation of the Federal Reserve to the list and Woodrow Wilson is giving FDR a run for the title of worst President ever.

While you can’t completely cancel the state of the union message since it is constitutionally required of the president, you are most definitely on the right track here so if you are at least 35 years of age, born on American soil, have two citizen parents, and have lived in the US for the last 14 years, you have my support if you decide to run for president. Abolishing the state of the Union circus would definitely be a winning plateform!

If I were Prez, I would simply cancel the whole State of the Union speech entirely

The president is not required to appear before congress. It can be a written report on the state of the Union.

I’m inclined to agree with your analogy. Article V makes amending the Constitution an extremely difficult process as the Founders intended, shielding it from the whims & caprices of a dictatorially minded head of state.

The Second Amendment is one of the Bill of Rights, rights which preexist any document, and cannot be rendered moot by legislation or decree.

For the enemy point of view, go to the thread about a CCW carrier on a Boston commuter train. Read the comments in the Boston Globe from which it is excerpted; these are northeastern liberals of the worst sort and their arrogance is bloodchilling.

I would suggest that rather than watch this vile speech and offend your appetite and mental health and do something which Jefferson would prefer. Gather together a representation of a few wines Thomas might like. Along with the Wine, a few fruit and cheeses and a couple of likeminded friends to discus the wine. A prior agreement that no politics and certainly no mention of our president the “obomination” is permitted.

Of course, you might substitute some Irish whisky and soda bread and cheese or a craft beer and most anything that takes minimal preparation. Which ever combination you choose, you will wake up far better off in the morning.

Watch when he announces the muzzies they will all stand like seals at a fish market and clap. The enemies who rule are on board with the enemies who want us dead.

You have shoe trees? Where can I get some? What kind of climate do they do well in? I would really like to have my own shoe orchard.

Or maybe a Halloween party”

Can't stand the sight of the gun grabbing constitution shredding b*stard's smug face.

You don't suppose he's going to cut an onion and cry about Newtown, or Littleton, or Aurora? And rail against the NRA -- "You killed Kenny, you b*stards!" -- again, do you?

He is so obviously trying to manipulate the women when he does that stuff. "Oh, look, Phyllis ... he cares!"
