I worry about the next elections with anchor babies and more Muslims running like Obama did. The issue needs to be settled. Maybe an anchor baby could have sole allegiance to US, but Muslims will first be Muslim. Slippery slope.

The anchor baby question is more complex to resolve, compared with resolving the natural citizenship of a person born in another country.

I don't think the NBC hurdle has any value at all, today, in weeding out undesireable candidates. In other words, I am certain thare are truly NBC people who are enemies of the constitution.

The only hope is the political process, where the public rejects candidates who don't have US interests at heart; and from I've seen, the political process works along the line of bread and circuses.

No worries - we're all in good hands! God bless. Thanks for the cordial exchange.

“Yap, yap, yap, there is no substance to your post” is a remarkably rude way to address me, but I will assume you still care to hear “substance.”

So: Trump is vulnerable to Hillary AND the Mainstream media for the same reasons he is attractive to so many: He is a bloviator, albeit a great one!

To make a long story short the “substance” of Cruz’ intelligence is not up for debate - he is quite simply an intellectual monster.

Where this counts is that he can utterly CREAM Hillary one-on-one under live cameras; moreover he can dominate printed hit-pieces... And has shown he can do it.

So there’s your “yap yap yap” for your surely interested mind.

Why do Dems hope for a Trump candidaate?

Do you think it’s because they’re stupid - stupid enough to give us Barack?

The Klintons prove NBC does not count for much.

I am replying to sitetest's post, but I am including John Valentine in my reply--as John has been most gracious in providing explanations of his point of view.

trump’s British nationality is not idiocy. It IS idiotic to think that his possible dual nationality has anything to do with American law or his eligibility to be president. Just as it’s idiocy to think the same in the case of Sen. Cruz.

I quite agree with you about the idiocy of dual nationality concerning Donald Trump. But I am not the one who introduced the subject. Trump is not, and never has been a British subject, nor was his mother after March 10, 1942 when she was naturalized. As Britain was involved in a war and allied with us at the time, I don't think Britain cared one whit about it. In fact after the war, the status of many British subjects was changed by various citizenship acts concerning various colonies in the British Commonwealth.

Of course, the greater idiocy is Republicans voting for a faux conservative like trump.

I know Trump is not a conservative. In fact, most of the GOP is not conservative. But he will build a wall, deport illegals, defend the Second Amendment, lower taxes, and bring back jobs to America. He has also taken on the media and the Clintons. That is in-line with conservative ideals enough for my vote.

My note on the word dominion was just to notice the fact that your historical knowledge was many, many decades out of date. You need textbooks printed after 1930.

The Canadian Citizenship Act of 1946 decoupled Canada from Britain concerning citizenship. So I concede I was off a few decades with my example concerning Cruz. I have no trouble admitting I was wrong.

However, the same Act clearly gave Canadian citizenship to Ted Cruz. Whereas Trump was not born with dual nationality, Cruz clearly was.

It is not idiocy to inquire as to trump’s dual citizenship. The question is not clear. But it is idiocy to care whether he is a dual national. The same with Sen. Cruz. Even if they are dual nationals, they are still eligible to be president.

Only stupid people or evil propel bring it up as an independent issue. Which is trump?

As to his campaign promises, he shows little understanding of the workings of government, except as the dispenser of favors to corrupt crony capitalists, so I’m inclined not to believe those dealing with how government works.
