It is also amazing to believe that California had Reagan as governor.
Even when Vermont was rock ribbed Republican it was the Rockefeller/Bill Scranton variety. In the 50’s and 60’s there wasn’t a conservative Republican governor or senator north of the Mason-Dixson line. Heck, there weren’t any south of it, either.
