I don’t hate Cruz - I just think he’s ahead of himself. I hated the rats for voting for the big talk no resume Obama...it was an obvious disaster in the making.
I just think Cruz needs some more exerience under his belt.
He’s trained to be a slick talker. For me a stint as Attorney General would help my view of him a lot.
Being a lawyer is the natural pre-cursor to elected office when you think about it. Elected officials draft and create laws so it is no real surprise that lawyers comprise the majority of elected officials in Congress. The typical ambulance chasers, however, dominate the process. Equating a constitutional conservative lawyer such as Cruz with Schumer and Feingold is not making a fair comparison of members of the same profession in politics.
Would your support for Cruz be more free if he were originally a pastry chef that is now on his 20th year in the Senate with a liberal voting record? Probably not.
The fact that Cruz was Solicitor General of Texas and argued the conservative constitutional position is, in my view, a plus. He largely selected the cases he argued. He has a verifiable background on which to make an informed decision. His involvement in a few crucial cases, alluded to in this ad https://m.youtube.com/?#/watch?v=lOit03vT1n8 is exactly the kind of America conservatives long for. Watch it if you haven’t seen it before, it is only 30 seconds.
Conversely, Trump is a rabble rouser. That is, in large part, why he is appealing. It is understandable. Is he conservative? No. No one knows what Trump is or what he will do. As one Trump supporter on FR puts it, he is a roll of the dice but it is a roll he feels is worth risking to destroy the system.
I think the difference between Trump supporters and Cruz supporters is this:
Trump is a clear vote AGAINST politics as usual.
Cruz is a clear vote FOR Constituonal principles.
Both are legitimate positions to hold this election cycle. Which one do you want to see most? Both will make heads explode. I am tired of voting AGAINST someone or something. This is the first election since Reagan that remember actually wanting to vote FOR someone or something. That is why we have elections. One side will win out.
What has Trump gotten done previously, other than funding Reid and Hillary, and helping get a democrat majority in congress?
Yes, the Clintons and the far left democrats thank him for his generous support over the years. That is Trump’s accomplishment for conservatism.
You cite Cruz’s stance on Obamatrade being “shaky”. So do you support Obamatrade? Because Cruz has been against it from day 1.
Anyone ever point out that you are a broken record?

He later changed his vote claiming that McConnell had lied to him. But there were enough votes to pass it then anyway.

I find this vote hard to explain if he’s such a strict constitutionalist. He can finangle words all he wants...I don’t think this bill should have passed. Mark Levin was screaming his lungs out over this.

I’m sure there is a reason for this position. Right?
I think it’s a legitimate question.
BTW, I’m sure my husband would agree with you. LOL
The bill Cruz voted on was not the version of TPA that was signed into law. The bill was changed in the House and a new version presented to the Senate. Cruz voted no on that. Also, even if the version Ted voted for HAD been approved, his wasn’t the deciding vote.
Apparently Cruz has changed his plans for H1B’s after getting more information.

Found this...there really is a lot of info out there, it just isn’t talked about much here.
.
Trolling this crap again?
Don’t you have any other lies you can post?
Your deliberate misunderstanding has been explained at least 50 times here, but you just keep on trolling.
.
.
>> “Exactly what did he accomplish?” <<
He defeated the Gang of Eight bill by adding a poison pill amendment.
But of course you know that and continually mischaracterize it.
Trolla Rolla Rolla.
.
None of your questions have ever been legitimate.
You are nothing but a troll.
The 325000 visas was a poison pill that killed the bill.
You’re more disgusting than Obama.
Allrighty then....
More disgusting than Obama...because I don’t buy Cruz hook line and sinker?
Have a nice afternoon.
Actually I found some answers and since you appear to be a Cruz supporter you might find this useful. You will like it.

Already been discussed ad nauseum. That was during a committee write up.
Sessions says what Cruz did was instrumental in defeating the Gang of 8.

Let's elect him President and find out.
Thanks, read this. I think Sessions is impeccable. I was looking for facts and rationals, not just rah rah opinions. I go to Conservative Treehouse a lot and have spent the last couple of hours reading up on Cruz and they go both ways there. Some interesting info.
I don’t know why he voted for the Corker bill...although he did write an op ed trying to explain it.
In the end..I will just have to choose one - if it even gets to the area where I live - usually by the time the voting comes here the candidates are already picked.
