Yes he was. In 1964, he came out against the civil rights act of 1964. In his libertarian philosophy, he didn't believe it was the government's business to regulate other people's morality.

Every dire prediction he made about that act has come to pass. This current spate of "Gay Marriage" crap is the predictable consequence of that 1964 act normalizing the concept of government decreed morality.

He was right about that, and he was right about pretty much every position he had in 1964. Of course, in the 1980s and 1990s, he lost his freakin mind, but I attribute that to age.

Goldwater was supported by Prescott and George HW Bush back in ‘64.

He was a strong proponent for abortion.

Strong proponent for homosexuals in the military.

Very critical of Reagan and social conservatism.

He was more liberal than today’s GOPe.

The Goldwater campaign was where the GOPe and the media cartel determined that together, they could rig presidential elections.

The media cartel then learned that they could control and co-op the GOPe.

I wrote a paper in my ConLaw class 20 years ago tracing the link between Brown v. Board of Education and the legal destruction of traditional marriage, due to the Court's overstepping.
