I like the bee swarm analogy. Conventional military strategy dictates killing the central command and control brings a speedy victory. That doesn’t work in this case where every ‘soldier bee’ has his/her mission orders embedded into them via their ‘religious instructions’. You literally have to destroy the whole hive to stop it.
