Guess the nuts will have to go with the secret citizenship oath she took in Canada. /s

Then I guess they are really in trouble, since another thread posted the inconvenient truth that neither his mother nor his father could have been Canadian citizens when he was born. Canadian law required 5 years residency before you could become a citizen. His family moved to Calgary in 1967, Ted was born in 1970.

So he had a Cuban citizen dad and an American citizen mother?

And because he was born in Canada he had Canadian citizenship?

I read that she registered her baby’s birth at the embassy to make him an American citizen.

My sister’s kids have dual citizenship Dutch/American because their father is Dutch and they were born in Holland. I believe they had to choose one or the other by a certain age but I need to verify this. I wouldn’t consider them “natural born” although they are US citizens.

I am natural born for sure - born in the USA of two citizen parents. I can understand if your parents were on a military base overseas or something ....but this has gotten really convoluted!
