Eleanor Darragh, mother of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) 97% , was born in Delaware on Nov. 23, 1934, establishing her citizenship by birth-and, according to U.S. law, that of her son, even though he was born in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, on Dec. 22, 1970.

This is the ultimate reality show.
Not electoral rolls. More like a listing of residents. They could NOT have voted since only Canadian citizens could vote and they could not have been citizens since they had not been residents long enough to even apply for Canadian citizenship.
Trump must know that is coming at him, sooner or later. Certainly Cruz has it in his pocket. Just a question of timing.

Three of my children were born to U.S. Citizens outside of the USA. We were told THEN.. that once the children were registered at the Embassy as children of U.S. Citizens, at their turning of age, 18, they had to choose which citizenship would be of their origin.... But then they changed, many nations do dual passports now... Many in the USA have two passports.
Trump didn’t even make it an issue. He just answered a question

You read that? It must have been from one of the paid Trolls plagueing us. What made him an American citizen was his American citizen mother carrying him for 9 months, going into labor and delivering a healthy boy...who became an American citizen at his first breath at BIRTH.
This has been an issue for me years prior to Trump announcing. I am a very strong constitutionalist, I believe our Founding Fathers wrote what they believed and believed what they wrote.
They made a clear distinction between the type of citizen who could become president and those who could only become senators or representatives. They said the man must be a natural born citizen.
They also said that birth abroad must have two citizen parents to make the child a citizen. This is all clear in additional writings and letters of the time.
Unfortunately, they could not have conceived of a world where courts and voters would parse their language, change their meanings and because of personality cults, throw out their intentions.
In 2008 Liberals decided it was time for a black president and lowered the bar to accept a person with one citizen parent, born in the United States instead of a natural born citizen.
Now, in 2016 Conservatives have decided to lower the bar even further and accept a person with one citizen parent, not even born in the United States.
You will ignore the Constitution, the writings of the time, the laws and the cases where the Supreme Court has ruled. It’s cool because it’s time for a Conservative to be president, who cares where he came from or if he’s eligible.
When this election season started, before Trump announced and I started paying attention to him, I had determined that to me, Cruz, Jindal and Rubio were not qualified. I first looked at Perry and then Walker. Even Christie was researched. I did not consider Bush because I don’t believe he has the mental capabilities needed for the job.
You will do what you will do, without thinking and insulting any who disagree with you. That’s fine. What will you do when they start changing the 1st Amendment or the 2nd? They have already changed the 14th to include anchor babies. They have already pretty much thrown out the 4th and the 10th. No wonder Washington considers the Constitution “just a piece of paper”
The one early reference to Natural born from 1790 Nat Act is as a COMPARATIVE between the children of Naturalized Citizens, the folks the 1790 Act was concerned with, and the children of Natural Born Citizens.
The children of both groups would be considered “Citizens”.
The Founders WOULD NOT consider NBC to refer to a person born of one citizen parent, one foreigner AND born outside the country.
It would make no sense to have the unique Natural Born language if it did not delineate a unique status.
It was put there as a last bulwark to PROTECT the country from voters making big mistakes, like blindly electing a NON NBC like Obozo!!!
The popularly elected Senate, a bastardization of the constitution, wasn’t able to protect The People on this because of their concerns for re-election.

I would assume that Trump’s mother was a dual national, depending upon when she became a citizen. This affected me so I know a little about it. I became a naturalized American citizen in the fall of 1957, and became a dual national. A year later, I believe, Britain then permitted their citizens to renounce their British citizenship, prior to that they did not recognize relinquishment of British citizenship. My brother became a citizen a year later than me, and he does not have dual nationality, he’s 100%American naturalized citizen. If I were a betting person, I would bet Donald Trump’s mother was a dual national, but it makes no difference to her son being a “natural born citizen”, born in America, of an American father.

We need to see some documentation that Great Britain formally stripped Trump’s mother of British citizenship at the time of her naturalization as an naturalized citizen. Or perhaps her British citizenship continued and she had divided loyalties. How does that effect Trump’s status as a “natural-born” citizen. And has there been a DNA test done to determine if Trump senior was the biological father of Donald Trump?
