DALLAS – Just a year after becoming the first female district attorney of Dallas County – and later admitting she struggled with mental illness — Susan Hawk faces a rare legal battle over whether she is fit to keep her job.
In a hearing Friday, a judge will hear arguments on whether the case, initiated by one of Hawk’s fired employees, can move forward — and possibly fuel debate over whether mental illness can be used to remove a public official from office.

Was she diagnosed by a “progressive” doctor?
There’s two about equally balanced factors to consider here.
The first is that even nice people can become so mentally ill that they cannot function in positions of trust and responsibility, especially as part of the legal system where they have great power over the lives of others.
The other factor is that Texas politics is hideous, nasty, vicious, and it doesn’t always have determined sides, so those politically closest might hate each other worst. And that prosecutors offices have been used for abusive purposes many times in the past.
Included are attorneys and staff with "psychiatric disabilities," "severe intellectual disabilities," and other current severe "intellectual or mental conditions."
Lets be clear.
hawk is a conservative in a very liberal city of Dallas politics.
This is a political hit job by democrats and the Left.
It is illegal to govern as a Republican in major American cities.
In Austin, Governor Perry is still facing legal charges for vetoing legislation democrats wanted.
Virginia governor is being prosecuted for being a governor.
Wisconsin’s Walker allies were prosecuted for supporting him.
Hawk should not be removed.
She should be defended by Republicans and the attacks ought to be diminished as sexist.
one wonders how many good career prosecutors will be ‘forced out’ of their jobs to accommodate her illness? so far at least three....
From looking::
Hawk is white, was a Democrat judge who switched parties. She had a back operation in 2013 and later went to The Meadows rehab joint in Arizona for addiction to pain killers and an ADD drug. Her former campaign manager says she went to a Virginia facility for another reason than the back.
She fired the number 2 DA this spring named Wirskye. Apparently has been exhibiting bizarre behavior.
Hawk switched parties in Sept 2013 to run for the office so she is truly a RINO.
The one in Maryland has a problem too!!!
She is unfit.
