Reading the article, isn’t it the classmate (not Cruz) talking when he says, “ because *I* pointed to him and said he was a dual citizen...”
Where does it show that Cruz himself “identified” as a dual citizen as the headline implies? Cruz knew he was born in Canada, but didn’t know he had Canadian citizenship until later. You can google where his family never applied for it and they did not know Canada did it automatically and nine months after learning Canada had done it, he had completed the process to renounce it.
Did I miss something or is the whole article one big strawman argument?
Read the entire sentence, 'Cruz identified himself as a dual citizen BECAUSE I pointed to him and said he was a dual citizen." The "because" is an explanation for Cruz's action of self-identification.
