But blocking the Keystone pipeline, declaring Alaskan areas off limits to drilling, regulating refineries into the ground, severely restricting offshore drilling, and other impediments to the oil industry produce artificial scarcity, which puts upward pressure on prices. Fracking is what produced the current low prices not because of but in spite of the administration’s efforts.
They make more money off gas, a higher percentage, than the convenience store owners do. For doing absolute jack sh1t and making it harder for businesses to operate.
