Ann is arguing Ted’s mother was not an American citizen when he was born?

Actually, it’s Ted’s father who was not a U.S. citizen. Both mother and father need to be U.S. citizens at Cruz’s birth for him to be a natural born citizen.

Looking over Wiki, for what it's worth, says only 1 parent.

If Ted is on the Texas Primary ballot I'll vote for him.

If Trump ends up the nominee, I'll vote for him.

According to the Department of State, only one parent is needed.

Cruz’s mother is an American citizen by birth, therefore, Cruz is an American citizen by birth - and we know he does not require naturalization in order to be a citizen.

If he doesn’t require naturalization, the only thing left is natural born citizen status. Otherwise, he’s in citizen limbo.
