I too am curious, but this only matters in the Vatican elections in IOWA. Personally if Trump wins a close 2nd place to Cruz in the caucus and splits the delegates it is a Plus for Trump.
He doesn’t have like Cruz thousand of out of state religious zealots working for him for free, and Cruz has been organizing in Iowa since he entered the race. Cruz has all the top Preachers working their congregation for him. Cruz has a Christian army working the polls.
IOWA hasn’t elected a nominee of the party in a long time

I don’t dispute what you say, but I will make the observation that it doesn’t seem to be generating much excitement in the South. Perhaps I’m not seeing it, but the only people I hear discussed are Trump, Hillary, Sanders, and somewhat surprisingly - Paul. Jindal on the rare occasions when he was mentioned only got eyerolls. Now he isn’t discussed at all. None of the pygmy horde is discussed at all. Not even Yeb.
Perhaps it is the circles I run in.
