Soldiers coming back from the Middle East with Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) will be unable to own a weapon and if they have weapons, will be force-ably robbed of their weapons by government jack-booters. These are American citizens who fought to keep America’s freedoms alive on this planet.

I was a new officer and assigned to a unit that had just come back from the sand box. When I took command, I found out that EVERYONE wanted to take off and go do PTSD counselling due to FREE $$$$. I remember asking the previous CO, "Did these guys see any action?" Of course not, they were 92U 33W and 150Us.....UAV techs that never left Bagram Airfield and were under flight rules on sleep and rest.

Long story short, I called the UAV detachment and said under no circumstances were they to go to PTSD unless they REALLY, REALLY needed it, and needed a witness to confirm their accounts.

I got overuled by the BN CO and he said its completely voluntary and I can't order them not to go because they needed the money.

I told the BN CO, S2, S3, and BDE S2 that I was an FFL and know that at one point in the future, those PTSD sessions were going to come back and haunt those soldiers. Some listened to me. Most didn't heed my warning back in 2009.
