You’ve brought up some legitamite reasons to seriously examine Trump’s qualifications. My thoughts regarding him are that:
1. I recognize the fact that he is a recent convert to conservatism, and I also recognize that some of his moral failings are indefensible.
2. When it comes to what he would do in governing the country, it’s a big unknown what he will do on moral, social issues - unless we take him at his word. Is he a consistent liar or not?
3. I know what Hillary will do. I know what Sanders will do. I guess I would take a chance on the unknowns of Trump. If he doesn’t keep his word, then that’s on him with us and God.
4. I look at the man’s enemies. The people who hate him are the same people who hate you and me. The media hate him, the DNC hate him, the GOPe hate him, the illegal immigrant lobby hate him, etc. if he is so much like the other side, then why do they hate him so much?
I’m not saying you’re wrong - just some thoughts of my own.
Thanks for the thoughtful, free of vitriol response. You have beautifully summed up my struggles with the concept of a trump nomination.
I completely agree with your point #3. I personally do not like Trump, but as between Trump on the one hand, and Clinton and Sanders on the other, I’m starstruck by Trump.

It is not a recent conversion to conservativism. His sister was appointed to the federal bench by Reagan. He has had to as a businessman deal with the same democrat bureaucracy and corrupt mobs who control the building trade in NY He knows and works with some very BAD people He made his first million by converting houses to apartments in college. He was a billionaire years before his father died (he never gained that level )
