Globe, distributor trade blame as delivery woes persist (4-6 month wait?-liberal media death watch)
Boston Globe ^ | 1/4/16 | Mark Arsenault and Dan Adams

Boston Globe executives summoned managers of its new distribution partner to a meeting Sunday to discuss widespread delivery failures, but the day ended with finger pointing and no clarity about when all home subscribers could once again count on getting their newspapers.

Behind disruptions affecting up to 10 percent of daily subscribers are two basic problems, both sides said. ACI Media Group Inc., which took over home delivery in Greater Boston last Monday, has yet to hire enough drivers to cover every route. And many of ACI’s new delivery routes lack any logical sequence, leaving drivers criss-crossing communities and making repeated trips to the same neighborhoods.

In an unprecedented grass-roots effort Sunday, scores of Globe employees from departments throughout the company voluntarily fanned out to distribution centers after midnight, taking over many of the 150 routes that had no drivers, often delivering papers until late Sunday afternoon.

“I wish I could answer that question,” ACI’s president and chief operating officer, Jack Klunder, a former circulation executive at the Los Angeles Times, said in an interview. “I just can’t say. I think it’s going to improve each week.” He said in four to six months service will be as good as before the change, and then will continue to improve

“He said in four to six months service will be as good as before the change, and then will continue to improve”

I wonder how long amazon would survive if their delivery system went tits up and would take four to six months before it was as good as new again?

Ever since John Henry put his new young wifie in charge the paper has become a joke,

Practically no news in the Sunday paper but very lengthy human interest stories.

Pure trash.

Absolutely no reason for subscribers to tolerate this nonsense. If the Globe can’t deliver, subscribers should cancel and find other more accurate and timely news sources.

Time for that rag to sleep with the fishes instead of just wrapping them.

The lame Boston Globe also makes you subscribe to view online articles. As if! They must have got in trouble again for all the illegals that drive illegally delivering the papers.

Hire local kids to deliver about 50 to a 100 papers in their own neighborhoods. That should take only an hour or so a day and teach them many life lessons.

Is she really? How exactly does her role play out?

This delivery deal is epic executive incompetence.

Yes. Human interest stories that interest no sane human being.

The long slow swirl down the toilet bowl continues for the Boston version of Pravda (of the Cold War days).

Bye Globe.

She’s The Managing Director and the rapid decline of the Globe was accelerated when she was given a roll.
