Trump has been a Democrt two different times, a Republican three different times, and an independent and member of the Reform Party (or its New York affiliate, the Independence Party) once each.
Have you examined Trumpâs RECORD?>>>>>>>>>>>>
You are wasting your time. Trump has no record. He has never held electoral office.
However Trump has made certain political and policy statements to the public but the contexts were NOT political.
The contexts of any statement Trump makes pubklicly are made in order to make a deal, get a property tax break on some construction.
Trump has been a smart man about that and has the ability to wrap politicians around his pinky finger to get what he needs in business.
That makes Trump a billionaire business man and a great candidate for president. That ability is not a weakness.
I believe Trump will indeed make America Great Again, and some of what could do wwould be conservative. Some not.But he will get the job done.
I feel the same way about the Cowboys and TX Aggies.
He has a record. He has taken positions on issues and put them in books — more than one. He has written and spoken about them.
That record is contradictory and inconsistent. He has flat-out contradicted himself on numerous issues. I like a lot of what he says, but I don’t completely buy it yet.
Earlier in the thread, I showed several things where he has either flip-flopped or taken a fairly liberal position fairly recently.
He is anything but a committed constitutionalist.
His sister being pro-abortion does not mean everything else she does is left-wing. She is often described as a moderate or someone who has a variety of views. In fact she's gotten in trouble with the leftists for her speeches, where she said people need to lighten up about considering everything sexual harassment and where she said people need to take more personal responsibility for themselves. The NYT even noted her "aversion to political correctness." Some have likened her dissent in Galarza v. Szalczyk to her brother's view towards immigrants even.
That he was personally opposed is of no consequence.
I disagree. This is the first step to changing someone's mind on this subject.
I understand your concerns. I would suggest you read his 2011 book, Time to Get Tough, as he goes into his opinions on several important issues in more depth than he has on the campaign trail. He devotes an entire chapter to "Repeal Obamacare," for example.
I know Trump will build the Wall.
Trump will stop the flood of illegals coming into our country.
Trump will make better trade deals with other countries.
Trump will protect our vets and made our military strong.
So really TBP - I don’t give a damn if Hillary came to his wedding. Or if Trump once said nice things about various Democrats... it’s part of doing business in a democrat city like New York... it’s part of the necessary reality of buttering up corrupt democrats ...
Are you twelve years old?
Maybe. Will Congress authorize the funds?
Trump will stop the flood of illegals coming into our country.
Maybe. Or maybe he'll do as he was saying in August and "give them a path", a way for them to "succeed".
Trump will protect our vets and made our military strong.
Maybe. How does he propose to do taht with a recalictrant Congress? He can't just do everything because he decides to.
I donât give a damn if Hillary came to his wedding. Or if Trump once said nice things about various Democrats.
Nor do I, and you'll note that I didn't mention that in my discussion of his record.
What I do care about is that he has taken liberal positions on a number of issues, and he has changed and changed back and changed again on numerous others. I want to believe in what he's saying, but his public record doesn't give me that confidence.
Apparently, you don't care about those things.
