I don't know that they ever have been friends of the people. When the fedzilla wants to take, they just send their goons to take. First we get the drones of lowest pay, then we get the court appointed messengers, then we get the muscle. The bureaucrats never soil their hands on we the people. They don't have to ‘cause they can command others.

Maybe. Used to encounter them once in a while hunting, they seemed like decent guys keeping the hunters and campers honest. Now I see them as probably corrupt law dogs enforcing Agenda21.
