To: Dusty Road

I hadn’t seen that yet. What I did see is two men who served a sentence being ordered back a judge. That is beyond reasoning for me. People keep saying let the courts settle it, but they are trying to send them back to prison still. I don’t think I’d willingly give up 5 years or so of my life to see if the courts can fix something, especially if I’ve already served time.

It sounds strange to me, too. It appears, though, the judge who ruled the original sentence didn’t comply with federal law about the minimum 5 year sentence. Then, an appeals court judge threw that sentence out, and imposed the longer prison term. It’s still unclear to me.
