As I wrote in another thread, the federal government needs to use whatever force necessary to protect public property, arrest these militia, jail them, convict them, and send them to prison. As an American, a veteran, I say zero tolerance to inciting rebellion and taking up arms against the US. These thugs are no better than the people rioting in Baltimore, occupying Wall Street, etc. They are definitely not someone any red-blooded American conservative should be supporting.

What constitutes public property?

“As an American, a veteran, I say zero tolerance to inciting rebellion and taking up arms against the US”

Then our forefathers would’ve been in that same category.

We are under more tyranny than we were back then, by far. Our freedoms have been eroded and the Constitution trampled on.

I’m all for CWII. (But it has to be done smarter than this.)

As I spoke in another tavern, the British need to use whatever force necessary to protect public property, arrest these militia, jail them, convict them, and send them to prison. As a citizen of the crown, a veteran, I say zero tolerance to inciting rebellion and taking up arms against the King. These thugs are no better than the people rioting in Boston, destroying tea, etc. They are definitely not someone any red-blooded British loyalist should be supporting.

God save the King!

Let’s see if they handle them the same way they handle the occupy protestors.

Not much spirit of ‘76 in this one. . So... Can the government do anything? Must we submit at all times to arbitrary rule? Is there any limit to what you are personally willing to suffer before you resist? Just wondering.

“As an American, a veteran, I say zero tolerance to inciting rebellion and taking up arms against the US”

As an American, I respectfully disagree. When the government becomes pernicious, it is our right, nay, our duty to oppose tyranny and abolish a government that fails to adequately serve and protect its people. Not in this stupid case, of course, but in legitimate cases of government abuse. This seems to me to be he work of a bunch of tinfoil hat nut jobs with the mentality of little boys who have no respect for the rule of law.

The federal government was interfering with their business. They did not burn federal property as an act of protest or arson, they burned it to fulfill their obligation as good husbandmen of land entrusted to their care.

The feds were not doing the job for which the ranchers paid them - namely, to improve and maintain the grazing capacity.

These nobs have no common sense and usually zero experience in practical range management - BUT they love to throw their weight around, forcing ranchers to follow their idiotic directives. They especially love to cause financial damage to hard-working cattlemen. This case sounds very familiar to anyone who has delt with them regarding such matters.

As an American, and a veteran, the Federal government should NOT use whatever force is necessary. They should stop and realize this is a deep wrong.
Two men sent to prison for a very small grassfire. They went and served their sentence and were released.

A federal prosecutor appealed the sentence and won, getting more time (5 years) for a small grassfire.
They have been out, living their life again, and the government calls and says to go back and do several more years.

This is Un American and no, the government is not justified in going in and doing a Waco.

The federal government is lawless. While I may or may not support these ranchers, Thomas Jefferson and I have to firmly disagree with you.

War is coming Reno. Pick sides carefully.

What do these “conservative” militia members so when a “far-left” militia shows up?

These idiots are giving Obama the ammunition he needs for more gun control.

I didn’t always like my orders in the Army. If asked my opinion, I gave it. Then I shut up followed the final orders.

I think we may have some shared experiences.

What the Federal government is doing to the two ranchers is wrong.

First of all, they were not trying to destroy things when they set the fires. They were practicing good land management for the benefit of their grazing rights. It just happened to be on leased federal ground. People do exactly the same thing all the time on private ground of their own.

Second, these two men served their sentences, but then a federal prosecutor pushed a judge to give them more, and so now they are trying to pick them up and send them away...for doing something that anyone knows in this country should not be a rime in the first place.

Sounds an awful lot like they did to the farmers in the Klamath Basin back in 2001...except then, it was the Sucker Fish as the tool.

I cannot say that what Bundy’s sons did was best...but I can say that people in this part of the country are sick and tired and full up of an ever encroaching federal government that creates reasons to go after anyone who will not toe their line.

I took the same oath as you to protect and defend the constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic.

That does not necessarily mean that someone rising up against encroachment of their rights is the enemy, nay, more likely the ones encroaching those rights.

That same oath indicates that we would bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution...and oft times that clause right there, when faithfully followed, lets us know who is on what side of the constitutional line.

So, before you throw these people out with the wash...get all the facts. If you do nt, you could easily be led to fight against the very people you should be helping

Our founders did not want to rebel against England. They wanted to be good “subjects.” But came a time when the encroachments on their rights were just too much...and so they rose up.

Out here in the west the encroachments have been long standing and ever and ever more burdensome and more and more against the constitution.

I take it that this particular quote means nothing to you:

But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security. The Federal government has no constitutional legitimacy for ownership of "Federal Lands" within the States without specific approval by the State legislature involved. Nor is the use involved in this instance the list permitted under Article I Section 8: "forts, dock yards, arsenals, magazines, and other needful buildings." It has violated equal standards of citizenship within Several States and the Tenth Amendment. Exercise of such enforcement, and especially by the Orwellian term, "Administrative Law Judge," is illegal and a violation of the separation of powers. Those are abuses and usurpations, sir, reducing citizens under absolute Despotsim.

Hence, if you don't recognize that quote as from the Declaration of Independence and recant that sentiment, you are no American. I suggest you reconsider.
