Close to the southern tip of Texas a border wall suddenly ends. Its final post sits in a dry cornfield half a mile from the nearest bend in the Rio Grande river, the actual border with Mexico.
It would be easy to walk around it. Tires left by the border patrol rest nearby. Agents drag them behind trucks to smooth the cracked earth and check for footprints.
Unlike other famous barriers in history such as the Berlin Wall or the Great Wall of China, the U.S. version is not much of a wall. What stands in Texas is fragmented series of fencing, composed of enormous steel bars embedded in concrete close together. The rust-colored thick bars that must reach a height of 18 feet loom over the landscape, forming teeth-like slats that split farmland, slice through backyards, and sever parks and nature preserves.

Oh Noes! It would be hard, was winning WWI too hard, building Hoover Dam, the Panama Canal, WWII, Mount Rushmore, the Golden Gate Bridge? All of a sudden something as important as our nation’s sovereignty and security is just too damn hard for the metrosexuals.

While being built put the national guard with orders to shoot on site. NO one will come close to this area
During WW2, the US built the Alaska highway in a single season, starting in March of 1942. The highway was dedicated in November of 1942. The total distance was 1,202 miles. Two crews worked toward each other and met at mile marker 558.
So, don’t tell me we cannot build a suitable barrier along the Mexican border. The Alaska highway was built using 10,000 men. We now have over 90 million unemployed adults in the country.

There are Indians, winter storms, snowdrifts thirty feet deep, scorching hot summers, wide rivers with no bridges, no sources of supply, no rails, no cross-ties, we don’t have any rolling stock, nobody will finance it, we don’t have enough labor, steam engine boilers explode and kill people, soot gets into the cars. It can’t be done, I tell you. Give it up. It’s nonsensical to even contemplate it. You’d best stay in the village where you and your parents and their parents were born, lived and died.
Don’t forget a we built Liberty ship every 3 days at the peak and a virtual land bridge to Europe to supply the Allied war effort all the while fighting a world war on 2 fronts.
I guess the author thinks it was the Panamanians who engineered the Canal.
Must be a more daunting task than getting Hillary put in Prison and having Obama Impeached.
If such a wall were mandated, many millions more foreign laborers would be imported to build it.

Walls are apolitical which is the whole reason for it being built, it cant be circumvented.

Begs the question of how many of them really want to work; especially if it's hard work. Idleness does not tend to make one work-ready. That said, there will be enough workers for such a project.
